Selena Gomez - an international actress and performer - is well-known worldwide. Her involvement has included many projects, but the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place has been the most successful. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. She was born on 22nd July, 1992 at Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett, and Ricardo Gomez are her parents. The mother of Selena was only 16 at the time Selena came into the world. In the age of nine, she got her first job in showbiz after being cast in the role of Gianna on Barney and her Friends. This was when she became one of the children that were the only historical anthropomorphic dinosaur, the purple one. Selena was a part of several episodes from season 7 and 8 from 2001 and 2003. Fun fact: Selena is not the only one who sang in Barney and his Friends at this time; Demi Lovato was also a part of the cast of the show. Following the end of the show, Selena Gomez auditioned for several roles in other programs as well as films, but wasn't much success. Selena got the role as Julie on Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire and also appeared as a character in Mini Spies 3 in 2003. The film also featured her as Emily Grace Garcia, a character she created as a musical in 2006's Brain Zapped.
